Children are most welcome at the Airds Hotel, a great place for a traditional family holiday on the west coast of Scotland with a myriad of activities to do either at the hotel or close by.
Both suites have a sofa bed in the lounge area which are suitable for two children or one adult and a number of our other bedrooms can also accommodate an extra bed or cot.
Children sharing with their parents will be charged £40.00 per night including breakfast with meals/high tea being charged as taken. A nominal charge of £10.00 per day will be charged for the use of our cot in the hotel bedrooms.
Children under 9 are not permitted in the restaurant after 7.30pm. However, high tea can be provided by prior arrangement at a cost of £25.00 per child per night.
Babysitting can also be arranged at prior notice.
Both the Master Suite and Loch View Suite have a sofa bed in the lounge area which are suitable for two children or one adult.
One of our Superior Rooms also has a sofa bed whilst two others are large enough to fit in a child’s bed reasonably comfortably.
The Junior Suite can also accommodate an additional small bed comfortably.
All rooms can accommodate a cot with the exception of the standard loch view room.
There are an abundance of forest walks and cycling adventures as well as horse riding, pony trekking, kayaking, indoor climbing and so much more. Local attractions include the Scottish Seal Sanctuary (a 15 minute drive) and the Heritage Centre on the small Isle of Lismore, a short ferry ride from the hotel. Equally take the ferry to Mull for the day which is a very popular day out for families.
Make it a magical break by taking a ride on the Jacobite steam train on the Glenfinnan viaduct where parts of the route to Mallaig were used extensively in the filming of the ‘Harry Potter’ films ‘The Chamber of Secrets’ and the ‘Prisoner of Azkaban’.
Parents can enjoy a child-friendly holiday and have a wonderful time themselves.
